Suspend What You Think You Know

Kung Fu is a term used for Martial Arts, but it’s true meaning is the development of superior skill. Holistically, this means that ancient, authentic kung fu training impacts all areas of personal and professional life that give the practitioner a leading edge in any virtually any field.

This is the essence of Holistic Kung Fu, to unleash unused potential in the practitioner, empowering them to be the best version of themselves.

Transformational Self-Image

Most often, what holds you back from your next level of expansion, and what keeps you on the plateau you may be sitting on, is your own mental limitations; your self concept, and your belief of what you are capable of. As much as we like to think we are held back by external factors, more often than not, it is our own subconscious opinion of ourselves that gets in the way of our progress. Holistic Kung Fu pushes the boundaries of what we think we are capable of, thereby proving to ourselves that achieving greater heights is possible for each of us, as long as we are willing to do the inner work. Our reality, after all, is but a reflection of our inner thoughts, feelings, and perceptions.

Mental

In Holistic Kung Fu, it is well known that the mind follows the body, and in-turn, the body follows the mind. The actions or thoughts of one absolutely follows the other. The mental focus that is cultivated in Holistic Kung Fu creates fortitude, resilience, and decisiveness that enables the practitioner to maintain discipline in all aspects of life, helping them to prioritize their time for its utmost effectiveness. While many people are busy in life, the practitioner’s aim is to be effective. This means achieving more important results in less time.

Physical

Holistic Kung Fu is fantastic for burning fat and toning muscle without significantly accumulating weight for the practitioner. This is because only the body’s weight is used in practice. Aside from the benefits to physical appearance, the real value for the body is the explosive power and improved vitality that the practitioner soon realizes.

Energy

In Holistic Kung Fu, as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qi Gong, and Tai Chi, practitioners understand that the body has its own vital force; Qi, Chi, or Ki. When this Qi is free flowing and balanced, we are full of energy and creativity. When it is blocked or stagnant, we more often get sick, feel fatigued, and require different stimulants to keep us up and going. The holistic Kung Fu Practitioner does not need such stimulants (caffeine, etc) to keep themselves going, but rather cultivates energy internally, through special breathing and coordinated movement. This keeps the practitioner active for longer, requiring less sleep, and in an improved, balanced state of health.

A Personal Note from Sifu Atalick:

"This isn't coaching. It's not mentoring. It's an esoteric relationship that is thousands of years old, where the teacher helps the student pull back the veil of reality to see the illusory limitations they have placed on themselves. In so doing they can remove the limitations, change the rules of the game they are playing, and lift the self-imposed ceiling of it.

As the veil is lifted, the inner master of the student is revealed; one who is focused, disciplined, and moves with integrity, unhindered in the direction of achieving their goals and desires.

In Kung Fu, explosive power (Fa Jin) is achieved when the body completely relaxes, and only the exact muscles fire that are needed for the execution of the perfect technique; all other needless tension is removed. The explosive force is therefore generated with what is known as minimal viable effort. Nothing is wasted, and there is no undue resistance. For the average person, this is impossible because they carry around so much extra tension, in mind and in body.

In holistic kung fu, the practitioner learns to unleash this power not just physically, but holistically in all aspects of life, removing undue tension, and placing perfect power, with minimal viable effort, where it is most effective.

In life, the undue tension comes in the form of self-doubt, hesitation, people-pleasing, approval-seeking, lack of clear vision, and over analyzing (not trusting inner guidance).

In holistic kung fu, the body, mind, and spirit are developed simultaneously. As explosive power is achieved physically, it follows in the mind and spirit, and the student removes obstacles and undue tension in all areas both mentally and spiritually for effective, accurate, and inspired impact.
